The map above is an imperfect attempt to show where I’ve been and the particular stage that I’m talking about in the current post. I hope it helps you visualize the route.
My accommodations in Nort-Leulinghem at Ferme Du Pre Vert (“Green Meadow Farm”) were actually in the corner of a working farm yard in a little trailer. The trailer was fine, but the mumbly teenage boy who greeted me didn’t score any hospitality points. Fortunately, his mom, who brought me breakfast the next morning, redeemed the experience. She was gracious and welcoming. Sidebar: I think the world would be a kinder, gentler, and altogether more pleasant place if we let women run it. Men, especially young ones (and some prominent older ones…) are chockful of hard edges and insecurities and testosterone. I’m not sure what else the farm produces, but their main product is beer, but I didn’t have any opportunity to sample it.

It was only a 12-mile walk to Wisques, but it was a very nice stretch of countryside.

It seemed to be a day of random figures along the trail.

This large Japanese Cherry tree was on the grounds of my hotel in Wisques. They are a commonly cultivated tree here, and they are absolutely stunning in full bloom.

I’m here at CB watching this with my friend Bob. We greatly appreciated the map. Do you have your own drone with you? If so, I’m impressed! Dave
